How does Botox ® Cosmetic injections work?
During the quick 10-minute procedure, a medical protein called Botulinum Toxin Type A is injected into the targeted area. After a short
time, the BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily relaxes the facial muscles that cause the wrinkling, thereby creating a softer, more relaxed
appearance. Thousands of people report noticeable results and are pleased with the dramatic difference. Although the BOTOX® Cosmetic
treatment procedure is temporary, it is safe and very effective. BOTOX® Cosmetic is the prescription approved by the FDA to treat frown
lines between your brows.

What is Juvederm?
Approved by the FDA in June 2006, Juvederm ™ is a non-surgical, injectable gel used to restore the skin’s volume and provide correction
of wrinkles and nasolabial folds. From the creators of Botox ® Cosmetic, Juvederm ™ is considered a “next generation” injectable; it is a
dermal facial filler made of a smooth consistency gel that is composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
How Does Juvederm Work?
The transparent Juvederm gel is injected with a syringe into the mid- to deep dermis of your face. The dermis is the subsurface skin layer
that contains connective tissue, nerve endings, sweat and oil glands, and blood vessels. Juvederm improves your appearance by lifting
and adding volume to the wrinkles and folds in the treatment area. After six to nine months, the biocompatible compound is naturally
absorbed into the body.
Does Juvederm have Side Effects?
Side effects with Juvederm are rare, but may include redness, tenderness, or pain at the injection site. If these occur, they usually subside
within three days. Rarely, discoloration may occur, but this is reversible. Firmness, swelling, bumps and bruises are also rare side effects,
and should subside within seven days.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP is a recent technology that uses ingredients from your own blood to regenerate your skin and to rejuvenate collagen, resulting in
vibrant, fresh younger looking skin. These ingredients reside within the fraction of your blood named "Platelet Rich Plasma" (PRP). PRP is
enriched with platelets, stem cells and growth factors. Once injected into your skin, these substances will accelerate the normal healing
process via new collagen formation at the injected area. Because your plasma (autologous) is used, there is no danger of disease
transmission, anaphylaxis or neoplasia. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are 'bioactive' stimulators NOT a filler and it will increase
collagen providing a gradual increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear after the first treatment session. PRP's most exciting feature
is that it is YOUR body, YOUR blood and YOUR plasma. Nothing artificial, nothing modified and therefore is 100% safe. It is the most
natural way of rejuvenating. The Result: Youthful looking skin
What type of results can I expect?
For optimal results, a minimum of three (3) PRP treatments, each performed 6 weeks apart. Improvement of skin texture and tone are
noticeable within 3 weeks. The results of the treatment will last approximately twelve (12) months. To keep the skin and face looking
youthful, we also recommend that clients have follow-up injections yearly.
How does the procedure work?
At your first appointment, Dr. Dobrin will take down a detailed clinical history and discuss any other medical conditions that may be
relevant to this treatment. Ten minutes prior to your PRP treatment, Dr. Dobrin will draw ten to twenty milliliters of your blood, like
taking a standard blood test, causing minimal pain and thereafter the blood will separated into its ingredients. Today, platelet rich
plasma can easily be separated from blood, through a process of centrifugation. A special machine called a centrifuge is used to separate
the platelet rich plasma out, which is then injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss and/or wrinkles. Using your
enriched plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently. A single PRP treatment will take approximately 30 minutes. You
can go straight back to work following the treatment, but be prepared for some swelling and bruising. The swelling and bruising can last
up to a week in some patients and it is as a result of the activation of the cells caused by the injected platelets.
